The first map showing Akseltorv is from 1587, but the oldest known market town privileges are from 1321, which is why it can be assumed that Akseltorv has been a trading place long before that. It is the markets that gave the square its name. Aksel comes from cart-axle, and Akseltorv therefore means something like “the place where goods are sold from a cart”. In Kolding we want to bring the atmosphere from Skagen, so that guests get the same good personal service and that the sea's table is also the central element of our menu here. Welcome.
